Biography

Honeysuckle Weeks is one of Britain's most promising young actresses. She is not only beautiful and talented, but clever too, as she studied English (with creative writing) at Pembroke College, Oxford.

Honeysuckle comes from West Sussex and is so named because the scent of honeysuckle was very strong at the time she was born, in August 1979 (hence she is currently 23). She says "I suppose I have been given stick about my name at times, but everyone is teased about something. It can sometimes be awkward, for instance when I am introduced to someone in a club. I have occasionally said my name is Holly." She spent 5 years boarding at Roedean, and for 3 months in 1998 she took a History of Art course in Venice. "But I got so bored with going to the pub every evening that I thought I would do something different, so I wrote a play and put it on in a monastery."

Honeysuckle has a younger brother Rollo and younger sister Perdita, both of whom have followed her into acting and have sucessful careers of their own. Her mother's name is Susan, and father's Robin. Honeysuckle has been romantically linked to Andrew N Robertson, who played Titus in the BBC production of Gormenghast.
